Bruce Wayne: I knew the mob wouldn't go down without a fight. But this is different. They crossed the line.
Alfred Pennyworth: You crossed the line first, sir. You squeezed them, you hammered them. And in their desperation they turned to a man they didn't fully understand.
布魯斯韋恩：我知道黑幫在垮掉前一定會頑強抵抗。但是這次完全不同。他們已經超過分際了。
亞福德：是你先超過分際的，主人。你把他們逼得這麼緊，這麼用力打擊他們。他們無路可逃，絕望之餘只好向他們不甚了解的人求助。

Bruce Wayne: People are dying, Alfred. What would you have me do?
Alfred Pennyworth: Endure, Master Wayne. Take it. He'll hate you for it. But that's the point of Batman, he can be the outcast. He can make the choice that no one else can make, the righteous.
Bruce Wayne: Well today I found out what Batman can't do. He can't endure this. Today you finally get to say "I told you so."
Alfred Pennyworth: Today, sir, I don't want to.
[pauses for several moments]
Alfred Pennyworth: But I did bloody tell you.
布魯斯韋恩：死亡人數一直增加，亞福德。你說我該怎麼辦？
亞福德：忍受，韋恩主人。打落牙齒和血吞。他會恨死你。不過這就是蝙蝠俠的特點：可以被社會唾棄。他可以走世人所不敢走的路，去做一個正義之士。
布魯斯韋恩：現在，我知道蝙蝠俠的罩門在哪裡了。他對這種情況是無法忍受的。現在，你終於可以跟我說：「早跟你講過了。」

Harvey Dent: You're Alfred, right?
Alfred Pennyworth: That's right, sir.

Alfred Pennyworth: Well, not yet. (Chuckels)
Harvey Dent: Any psychotic ex-boyfriends I should be aware of?
Alfred Pennyworth: Oh, you have no idea!
哈維丹特：你就是亞福德對嗎？
亞福德：是的，閣下。
哈維丹特：你認識瑞秋一輩子了吧。
亞福德：應該還沒吧！（笑）
哈維丹特：她過去有沒有什麼精神異常的男朋友是我該知道的？
亞福德：喔，你最好別知道！

The Joker: You see, nobody panics when things go according to plan. Even if the plan is horrifying. If I told people that a gangbanger was going to get shot, or a busload of soldiers was going to get blown up, nobody would panic. It's all part of the plan. But tell people that one tiny little mayor is going to die and everyone loses their minds!
小丑：你看，如果一切按照計畫在走，大家就不會驚慌。即使那個計畫恐怖之至。如果我跟大家說，有個混幫派的要被宰了，或是有一車的阿兵哥會被炸死，沒有人會驚慌。因為這都是在計畫範圍內。但是，如果跟大家說，有個小小的市長會被害死，大家立刻失去理智。

The Joker: You just couldn't let me go could you? This is what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. You truly are incorruptible aren't you? You won't kill me out of some misplaced sense of self-righteousness, and I won't kill you, because you're just too much fun. I think you and I are destined to do this forever.
Batman: You'll be in a padded cell forever.
The Joker: Maybe we can share one. Then we'll be doubling up the rate this city's inhabitants are losing their minds.
小丑：你就是不放過我是嗎？當銳不可當的勢力碰上不動如山的東西就會變成這樣。你絕對不會受引誘墮落，對吧！你有某種過時的自我正義感，所以不殺我，而我呢，我不殺你因為你太好玩了。我想你跟我是命中註定要永遠在一起的。
蝙蝠俠：你就要永遠被關進精神病院。
小丑：那我們最好兩人住一間，這樣我們就可以讓這裡的市民喪失理智的速率加快一倍。 |
